Lightning’s pedigree
Lightning is an outgoing, friendly, confident dog who is a joy to live with. His exceptional temperament is second to none. He excels in structure and is flawless moving. His powerful ground covering sidegait, beautiful front, gorgeous V rear, flying trot, and correct coat make him a marvelous working partner and a head-turning show dog.
At barely two years old, Lightning completed his Master Working Samoyed title (the 11th dog in history to do so), and finished his American Championship in style with back-to-back 5 point majors. He was Winner's Male at the 2001 Canadian National, and finished his Canadian Championship in 2006. Together with Nimbus, he went BISS Brace at several specialties including the 2003 and 2004 National Specialties! Lightning has also earned the SCA and OWS Top Sled Dog Awards all three of the years he raced. He was Best In Show at the 2004 National Specialty, defeating over 500 other Samoyeds including most of the top show dogs in our breed. This single win brought him to the position of #4 Samoyed in the country in breed points. All this accomplished from very limited, owner-handled showing.
Lightning has produced very well. Many of his puppies have become top working and show dogs in their own rights. He has sired several of the breed’s top agility dogs. In conformation, his kids have achieved grand-championships and other notable feats such as a National Specialty Winner’s Bitch.
His offspring have earned him the highly respected awards of ROMC (Register of Merit Conformation) and ROMP (Register of Merit Performance). These titles are very difficult to achieve independently. When a dog has received both of them, they are combined to be known as ROMX (Register of Merit Excellent). We believe Lightning is the only Samoyed in history whose sire and dam have both also earned their ROMX titles.
Pacific Crest co-bred a lovely litter of puppies, sired by our sensational dog Lightning. This fabulous litter was born on August 6, 2007. One of these beautiful girls is our own very special Stormy.
